Article Processing Charges (APC)

1. Publication Fees

Locus Journal of Academic Literature Review (JALR) does not charge a manuscript submission fee. An Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 500,000 per accepted article is payable only after the manuscript has successfully completed the required editorial and peer review stages and the author has received an official acceptance notice.

2. What the APC Supports

The APC contributes to the costs of editorial administration, copyediting, typesetting and layout, publication platform maintenance, article metadata management, and online publication. Payment is not a substitute for peer review, scholarly assessment, or compliance with research ethics.

3. Editorial Independence and No Fast Track

LOCUS does not sell acceptance, guaranteed decisions, special reviewer recommendations, or accelerated peer review. No fast-track review or publication fee is offered. Editors and reviewers evaluate submissions independently on academic merit. The publication fee and any request for financial consideration do not influence editorial decisions.

4. Invoicing and Payment Procedure

Only after formal acceptance will the editorial office communicate the APC invoice and authorized payment instructions to the corresponding author through an official journal channel. Authors should not send payment in response to unsolicited requests or transfer money before receiving an official invoice. Payment details must be verified with the editorial office.

5. Waivers and Financial Assistance

Authors who face financial constraints may contact the editorial office before making payment to ask whether a waiver or reduction is available. Any request is considered individually and does not guarantee approval; the availability and extent of assistance depend on the publisher’s applicable arrangements. Such requests are handled independently of manuscript assessment.

6. Withdrawals and Refunds

Authors should discuss any withdrawal or billing concern with the editorial office in writing. Where a fee has been paid, any refund request is examined according to the documented production stage, payments received, and applicable law. Acceptance of a payment does not guarantee or accelerate publication.
