Open Access Policy

LOCUS JOURNAL OF ACADEMIC LITERATURE REVIEW

Open Access Policy

Immediate access to scholarly knowledge, responsible reuse, and long-term discoverability.

Open access statement. Locus Journal of Academic Literature Review (JALR) is an open-access journal. All published scholarly articles are made freely and immediately available online upon publication, without subscription charges, paywalls, mandatory reader registration, or embargo periods. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and lawfully reuse published articles under the applicable article license.

01. Immediate and Free Access

The journal provides immediate access to the full text of its published articles through the official journal website. No payment or account is required for readers to view or download published content. This access policy is independent of any author-side publishing fees disclosed separately on the journal's Article Processing Charges page.

02. Licensing and Permitted Reuse

Articles published under the journal's current licensing policy are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). Subject to that license and any clearly identified third-party rights, readers may copy, redistribute, translate, and adapt articles, including for commercial purposes. Reusers must provide appropriate attribution, link to the license, indicate whether changes were made, and license adapted material under the same or a compatible ShareAlike license. No additional legal or technological restrictions may be imposed that conflict with the license.

03. Copyright and Author Rights

Authors retain copyright to their work, subject to any applicable pre-existing rights, and grant the journal the non-exclusive right of first publication. Authors may share and reuse their own work in accordance with their rights and the applicable publication agreement. The copyright holder and license applicable to each article should be clearly identified on its publication page and in the published document. License terms applicable to previously published articles remain as recorded at the time of publication unless lawfully amended with the necessary consent.

04. Author Self-Archiving and Repository Deposit

Authors may deposit and share preprints, accepted manuscripts, and the published Version of Record in personal, institutional, or subject repositories without an embargo imposed by the journal, provided that any rights in third-party material are respected. For the published Version of Record, authors should include the complete bibliographic citation, DOI or permanent article URL, and the applicable license notice. Repository sharing does not alter the status of the journal's official published version.

05. Discoverability, Metadata, and Preservation

The journal supports discoverability through publicly accessible article pages, descriptive metadata, persistent identifiers where assigned, and metadata dissemination through available journal-platform and indexing services. Published articles remain accessible through the journal website, subject to technical availability and necessary maintenance. The journal aims to support long-term preservation through managed backups and suitable external preservation arrangements. Any participation in a particular preservation network or archive will be stated separately only when such participation is active and verifiable.

06. Third-Party Material and Responsible Use

Images, datasets, extracts, and other third-party content included within articles may be subject to separate rights or permissions. Where such content is excluded from the article's Creative Commons license, that exception must be clearly indicated in the relevant caption, credit, or accompanying notice. Users are responsible for observing those separate rights and for providing appropriate scholarly attribution.

07. Corrections and the Scholarly Record

Open access does not prevent post-publication editorial action. If an article requires a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, the journal will act in accordance with its Publication Ethics and Corrections and Retractions policies. Appropriate notices should remain publicly accessible and be linked to the affected publication so that the scholarly record remains transparent.
