Copyright and Licensing Policy
LOCUS JOURNAL OF ACADEMIC LITERATURE REVIEW
Copyright and Licensing Policy
Clear author rights, responsible reuse, and transparent open-access publishing.
OPEN-ACCESS LICENSE
Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International
Articles published under this policy are made available under the CC BY-SA 4.0 International License, subject to any clearly identified third-party material and the terms applicable to earlier publications.
01. Copyright Ownership
Authors retain copyright in their original scholarly contributions, unless ownership is otherwise determined by law or a separate valid agreement. Publication in Locus Journal of Academic Literature Review does not, by itself, transfer copyright ownership to the journal or publisher. Each published article must identify its copyright holder accurately.
02. Right of First Publication
By submitting an article for publication and completing the applicable publishing agreement, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right of first publication and permission to reproduce, distribute, display, index, preserve, and make the published version publicly accessible. Authors remain responsible for obtaining the agreement of all coauthors and the necessary permissions for materials included in their work.
03. Permissions Granted by CC BY-SA 4.0
Under CC BY-SA 4.0, readers may copy, share, redistribute, translate, and adapt licensed article content, including for commercial purposes, provided that they:
- Give appropriate credit to the authors and source of publication.
- Provide a link to the applicable Creative Commons license.
- Indicate whether changes were made.
- Distribute adaptations under the same or a compatible ShareAlike license, where required.
- Do not imply endorsement by the authors or publisher.
No additional legal or technological restrictions may be imposed on uses permitted by the license. The authoritative license terms are available at creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/.
04. Author Self-Archiving and Repository Deposit
Authors may deposit and share their submitted manuscripts, accepted manuscripts, and published articles in personal websites, institutional repositories, disciplinary repositories, and other lawful platforms. When sharing the published version, authors should provide the full bibliographic citation, the article DOI or permanent journal URL, and the applicable license information. Deposits must respect third-party rights and any separate arrangements governing earlier articles.
05. Third-Party Material
Authors must properly attribute quotations, images, figures, tables, datasets, instruments, and other third-party materials. Where material is not covered by the article's CC BY-SA license, its source, rights holder, applicable terms, and any required permission must be clearly identified in the article. The journal's open license does not override third-party copyrights.
06. License Display and Publication Metadata
The journal aims to display copyright ownership and the applicable license on the article landing page, published full text or PDF, and relevant publication metadata. Authors and readers should refer to the license indicated for the specific article. Editorial changes to journal policy do not automatically replace the license or publishing agreement under which an earlier article was released.
07. Originality and Rights Clearance
Authors warrant that they are entitled to submit and license the material contained in their manuscript, that all necessary coauthor approvals have been obtained, and that publication does not knowingly infringe the rights of other parties. Suspected copyright infringement, misattribution, or licensing irregularities will be assessed under the journal's Publication Ethics and correction or retraction procedures.
08. Journal Website and Branding
The CC BY-SA 4.0 license attached to an article applies to the material expressly covered by that license. It does not automatically license the journal's trademarks, logos, website design, software, or other independently protected materials.
